Tateiwa

Scenic spot towering at nochigahama beach of taiza.

"Tateiwa"which is placed at uchigahama beach, is a rock of the columnar basalt and its standing figure make a very beautiful contrast with ​​Japanese sea.

Its height is 20 meters.

The Tateiwa, the rock placed at taizaura, is the huge rock towering strongly.

According to the legend, when the third prince Maro-ko Prince got rid of the demon at this region, he came down from the heaven and confined it in this huge rock in the one night.

Even now, It is said that they will hear a voice of demons crying if the wind is strong and waves are high.
